Gales Solicitors celebrates its 70th birthday!

5th Jul 2018

Conor Burns MP was invited to join the celebrations and was asked to cut the birthday cake.  He advised, “It was a pleasure to be asked to join Gales as they mark 70 years of serving local people.  Independent solicitors provide a valuable service to people at times in their lives when they need help and support they can rely on.”

Senior Partner Matthew Moore declared, “We are hugely proud to be celebrating this significant birthday!  We have been a part of the fibre of Bournemouth for 70 years now. We’re looking forward to continuing our growth and serving the people of Bournemouth.  In the next 12 months we will be marketing some major changes and steps forward for Gales.  Watch this space for announcements!”

Gales Solicitors was opened by John Miller Gale in 1948 and was very much a family business as he was supported by his wife Betty and later joined by his brother in law Eric Coward. Originally founded in Alma Road in Charminster, the business moved to Winton in 1953.  Gales is renowned for its devoted staff with many long- standing members of staff.  Former senior partner Richard Williams joined the company in 1977 at the age of 21 and stayed with the business for over 40 years.  The current senior partner Matthew Moore has served nearly 20 years and there are several members of staff who have been employed with Gales for over 20 years.

Matthew Moore said, “We have always been very proud of our incredibly loyal and close- knit work force.  They are amazing and their commitment to Gales is incredible.”

Richard Williams concluded, “It has been great to join in the celebrations and meet up with and reconnect with former colleagues and friends.  I wish the firm every success in the future.”
