In the light of increased redundancies post lockdown, Gales Solicitors Partner Sarah England is reminding businesses of the need to ensure that full and proper procedures are followed.
Sarah said, “Simply making someone redundant without proper procedure just because of a pandemic puts you at risk of an employment tribunal claim.
“Sadly, the current environment has meant that many employers are considering reducing their staff numbers. Smaller businesses are not exempt and redundancies are being made.
“Correct procedures must still be followed. For struggling businesses, getting your redundancy procedures right can be the difference between survival and potential financial disaster.”
