Expanding team at Gales Solicitors

9th May 2018

Gales Solicitors has been joined by 3 new members of staff in a period of expansion for the busy Winton office. The new staff members bring with them a wealth of experience across their legal specialities and an unusually high level of languages being spoken, which they hope to put to good use.

Jodi Halkier joins as an experienced Head of Conveyancing. Jodi has previously owned and run her own legal practices in South Africa but relocated to Europe with her family in 2011. She spent 6 years working in Majorca before moving to Bournemouth.  She speaks Afrikaans and intermediate Spanish. Jodi advised, “I am really enjoying working in the relaxed and friendly environment at Gales Solicitors. I work with an incredibly diverse mix of commercial and residential clients and I love the atmosphere within the team!”

Wingwai Tam has joined the team as a conveyancing executive, specialising in commercial and residential properties. Having just completed her legal practice course Wingwai will be starting her training as a solicitor later on this year.  She has previously worked for 2 years with another local law firm.  Wingwai advised, “I’m very happy to be a part of the busy Gales conveyancing team. I speak Cantonese fluently and have conversational Mandarin and hope that I might have the opportunity to use these language skills.”

Lucian Sandu joins the firm as a family lawyer, specialising in all aspects of child care.  He has previously worked for law firms in Wiltshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire and is an accredited member of the Children’s Law Panel with many years of experience in his sector. Lucian also speaks fluent Romanian.

Gales Partner Matthew Moore commented, “We are delighted to welcome our new staff. They are a very welcome addition to our close- knit team.  Gales have been attracting lots of new clients across the area and it was essential that we looked to expand our team. We are looking forward to a busy and successful 2018.”
